The 1931 Collection takes its name from an important year in Balvenie’s history. The distillery’s traditional malting floor has been in operation since around this period, and Balvenie still maintains the increasingly rare practice of malting its own barley by hand. The 12 Year Old was created by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie using techniques inspired by the extraordinary 88-year-old whisky at the heart of the collection.
